Pride March – Fitzroy Street, St Kilda

January 21, 2007

Participating in Melbourne’s annual Pride March is a regular highlight for the MRB. This year’s event was certainly one to remember!

The afternoon began with a final rehearsal in nearby Albert Park to make sure everyone knew the choreography learned the previous week at band camp.

Just before the commencement of the parade a freezing rain and wind began, drenching marchers and spectators alike.  At first we didn’t think the show would go on, but nothing was going to stop us.

After the parade, once the weather had cleared, we played in the rotunda as the rest of the parade followed us into Catani Gardens.

A big thank you to the four helpers who carried our banners. We all had a great time dispite the brief torential rain immediately before the march.
